With London Fashion Week 2014 out of the way and now returning to your day-to-day, you may have seen the below cover at every newsstand since last week. This is PORTeR, the latest magazine launched by NET-A-PORTER, the online luxury fashion retailer. If you’ve never heard of it, the women in your life have. NET-A-PORTER.COM targets women with a flair for designer clothing, accessories and cosmetics – heck, women with a sense for luxe-living!

But what of us Gentlemen?

This question did not fall on deaf ears. The NET-A-PORTER GROUP launched MR PORTER in early 2011 and have called it the men’s style destination. What you will find there is everything and anything to tailor your look. Familiar categories each week guide you through gentlemen clothing, shoes, men bags, luxury maintenance products, high end accessories and gadgets– every item a gentleman could need to round off his style.

It doesn’t stop there. MR PORTER became more than just an online retailer of luxury goods for us fellow gents when it launched its very own online magazine called THE JOURNAL. This monthly online publication is very sleek. It jumps quite easily from a serious piece on ex-servicemen to the challenge of pulling off wearing a cardigan, this year’s favoured sneaker brands and why every man wants to be Bond. Its enjoyable reading and appeals to the modern man with luxury interests.

 

Aside from all the top notch designer insights, the daring cover stories, the wowing interviews, the dishy shoots and the inspiring fashion, MR PORTER can be explored for the mere aesthetics of the site. As an online experience it is quite fascinating – the design is neat, typography puristic, the space is used with calm aloofness and the colours are generously complementary without being boring. Wait a minute… could the site itself be the portrait of a MR PORTER?
